Summer 2020 was a wakeup call for Council to consider moving into the 21st Century and look at modern ways to manage the Big Meadow car parking system in the summer months.
Having looked at a number of possibilities, it has given the contract to LPS to install a ANPR Camera Control Car Park.
There will be no changes to the charges made – only to the paying method: £3 for vehicles and £5 for coaches per day. No overnight stay permitted.
Bidford-on-Avon parish residents, who pay their precept to the Parish Council, will be able to apply for a “fob” that will allow them to park on the Big Meadow, from 1st April to 30th September every year. The only difference is that, due to the “fob”, application will have to be in person, not by post.
Due to current COVID 19 restrictions, Summer 2021 will be slightly different, with the Big Meadow opening to vehicles on 17th May 2021. Residents will be able to start applying for their “fobs” from 12th
April 2021 when current restrictions will be relaxed to allow shops to re-open. There will still be some restrictions which will make the process not as fast as we would like, so patience will be required:
- Social distance will have to be maintained
- Masks to be worn at all times
- Hand sanitiser will be available
- If the weather permits, the process will take place outdoors.
Please note that your name and address will be checked against the Electoral Register – if you are not registered, please bring 2 x proof of residence to show you pay your precept to Bidford on Avon Parish Council.
The loss of any “fob” must be notified and there will be a charge of £5 for a replacement.
Please bear with us this summer as we work ourselves out of Covid 19 restrictions and towards normality!
