Bidford Parish Local Nature Action Plan
Bidford Parish Local Nature Action Plan has been developed to support flora & fauna in our green spaces.
Nature’s recovery around England & our County is an important part of this project. We all know that climate change is happening and we need to play our part in reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing our natural green spaces. We are very lucky in our Parish to have so many green spaces and it is up to us to protect and enhance them to bring the balance of nature back for flora & fauna in our areas. Overdevelopment of housing has caused many precious natural green areas to become vulnerable and even destroyed. We have to pull together and take action to protect and enhance what we have left.

During the Autumn of 2023, the public open space (POS) at the corner of St Laurence Way corner and Lambourne close needed attention This was carried out in 2024. Bulb planting also took place along the border of Lambourne Close.
There are two further POS along St Laurence Way and both of these have been tidied up. All 3 green spaces are natural areas which can be enhanced to support nature & wildlife.
In 2025, more laurels were planted out along the fenced edge (rear of Oak Place) and a gentle slope created in line with the rest of the green space.
The corner of St Laurance Way & Lambourne Close is a large area of land and to protect this from any future developments, a Fields in Trust application has been submitted and is currently in process.
