BIDFORD DEMENTIA CAFE
Is a safe and friendly place for people with memory problems and their carers to meet and share experiences. After a cuppa and biscuits (or cake if you’re lucky!) they have a time for activities including games, quizzes and musical entertainment.

BIDFORD ON AVON & DISTRICT GARDENING SOCIETY
(Affiliated to The Royal Horticultural Society)
Bidford on Avon and District Gardening Society welcomes gardeners of all ages and abilities. With a membership of over 70 they are united by their enjoyment of gardening, sharing their gardening experiences whether it be just a few pots, a large sprawling mature garden or an allotment. There are two /three outings per year to gardens, with lunch or refreshments. The annual show gives members the opportunity to display their own home grown plants and vegetables and floral displays.
Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month in the Crawford Memorial Hall, at 7:15pm for 7:30pm. Annual membership is £19, visitors are welcome for £4 per evening, where refreshments are served.

There are 11 volunteers in the Christmas Lights Committee, who organise fundraising for the Christmas lights in Bidford on Avon.  This includes running the 200 club which costs £12 to join and you go into a monthly draw: and, the annual duck race.

PERKINS FOUNDATION - EDUCATIONAL AWARDS

The Perkins Educational Foundation grants awards to young people aged between 17 and 25, to assist with expenses in higher or further education, or apprenticeships. To be eligible, they must have lived in any of the parishes of Salford Priors, Bidford on Avon, Harvington or Cleeve Prior for a minimum of 2 years. The deadline for applications from young people is 15th October at the start of an academic year.
The Foundation also awards grants to schools and other organisations in those parishes, to assist young people under the age of 25. The deadline for applications from such organisations is 31 March each year.

BIDFORD PAROCHIAL CHARITIES

Bidford Parochial Charities is a charity that supports residents of the Parish of Bidford-on-Avon who are deemed to need financial help in accordance with the charity commission (31st December 1959).  This includes financial assistance with education and training; support for those with health needs or disabilities and the prevention or relief of poverty.
  
Applications from University/College students and apprentices, who have lived in the Parish for at least two years, can be made from August until October 31st.  Educational Grants are usually distributed during November each year. For an application form, please email contact below.

CEMETERIES

There are two cemeteries and a Churchyard in Bidford on Avon, and Bidford Parish Council is the local Burial Authority for all of them.

St Laurence’s Churchyard is CLOSED to future burials, but is maintained by the Parish Council.

The Cemetery at Grange Road is now closed for new internments unless it’s a second burial or you own a plot.

The Cemetery on Salford Road, is the current burial ground being used. This has a garden of remembrance for ashes and a dedicated site for Roman Catholics.

Both cemeteries are maintained by the Parish Council.

THE CRAWFORD MEMORIAL HALL

The Crawford Memorial Hall is a registered charity (Registered Charity No. 522837) and is managed by a group of volunteer trustees. All villagers are entitled to stand for the committee at the Annual General Meeting and new support is always very welcome. 
The Crawford Memorial Hall is, in effect, the village hall, and is used by many village groups, for elections, village meetings, concerts, exercise classes and more.
The hall has a bar licence so is the ideal venue for private dances, weddings and parties.

CRAWFORD MEMORIAL HALL MEETING ROOM
At the Memorial hall there is smaller, self contained room which is ideal for meetings and parties of smaller numbers. The room has its own unisex accessible toilet, kitchenette and an entrance which is wheelchair/pushchair friendly. This small room can be booked separately from the main hall or in conjunction with the main hall and its stage as a dressing room for concerts, plays etc.

BIDFORD METHODIST HALL
The hall at the Methodist church is available to hire for regular groups/classes or for private functions.  There are several local groups using the facilities at the hall, which has seating and tables for up to 100 people.
We offer competitive hire rates, have a well-equipped kitchen, and full toilet facilities.
The hall is fully accessible and has a private car park.

BIDFORD ON AVON CHURCH HALL
The hall was originally the Village School and is in Church Street opposite the Church.  It is available for hire to groups of all ages on a regular basis if required or a one off for parties, family gatherings etc.  The main hall is on one level with a level access from the street. 
There are toilets and a kitchen.

BROOM VILLAGE HALL
Broom's village hall is a modern, purpose-built hall providing up-to-date facilities. It hosts a range of regular social events and both daytime and evening classes covering a range of activities. It is also available for hire for parties and other events - contact the general email below.
The hall has central heating throughout. seating & tables for up to 60 - 70 people, or for more informal events there is room for up to 120 people. The floor is semi-sprung, and there is a well-equipped kitchen with a serving hatch through to the main room.
A ramp facilitates disabled access.with all at the same level.
The management committee run regular events to help finance the hall including film nights, quizzes, Bingo, etc. check out the website for all their up to date events, classes, groups, etc.
