Bidford-on-Avon’s main attraction is the Big Meadow, a 26 acre recreational park by the River Avon, which the Parish Council leases from Alice, Duchess Dudley Trust. This is open to pedestrians all year round, unless flooded, and to vehicles from 1st April to 30th September. It has a play area, which caters for children of all ages as well as outdoor gym equipment and a trim trail; a skate park and a MultiUseGameArea (MUGA).

Useful information


  • Parking fees apply for non-residents: £3 for up to 2 hours, £6 for over 2 hours. Paying machine can be found to the rear of the entrance hut.
  • Toilets - including for the disable - are available at the entrance.
  • No BBQs or open flames of any kind are permitted.
  • No swimming.
  • Canoeists and paddlers, please use floating pontoon – current access via steps to the launching pad.
  • Parking runs perpendicular to the road within the marked area (logs).

Car fobs for residents


All residents of Bidford on Avon Parish Council (Barton, Bidford on Avon, Broom and Marlcliff) are eligible for Free Car Parking in the Big Meadow and can apply for a Car Fob from Monday 18th March 10.00am – 1.00pm at the Parish Council Office, Bramley Way, B50 4QG.

If you are not on the Electoral Roll, or you are unsure if you are, please bring your Council Tax Invoice, as proof of residence.

You will also need to know the registration of the vehicles as each fob corresponds to a car registration

If you already have a car fob, you don’t need to apply for a new one. If you change your car registration, please advise the Parish Council Office , giving your fob number and new Car Reg.  You can:
